UX/UI Product Designer at FS Investments

Tell us a bit about your career before you studied UX with us.
“I was working as a web designer for an in-house marketing department and found myself fascinated by A/B testing and the results it yielded. At the time, I had been unknowingly engaging in some UX practices and eventually discovered the UX/UI career path through reading articles and online research.

“I then decided to pursue a course in UX to have a more practical and well rounded understanding of the process.”
Why did you want to learn more about UX?
“I saw the importance of understanding the ‘Why?’ in users’ engagements with products and systems. It became my mission to understand how users got to the decisions they made, whether those be purchasing or just how they moved through an application or service.”
Why did you choose to study UX with us?
“After researching several programmes and looking at my personal finances and available time allocation, I found that this was in-depth training at a low cost in a compressed format.

“The company also had a proven track record in Europe with some big clients in the product design field.”
Since completing the course, how has your career progressed?
“Shortly after completing my course, I started a new role as a UI designer on an in-house product team, which was half UX research, half UI design. I then transitioned from this position into a UX/UI product designer at a new company where I am viewed as the expert in digital product design and user interaction.

“In this role, I work as a specialist in UX/UI design, focusing on the patterns, user interactions and usability of the product we are designing. Which is exactly where I hoped this career change would take me.”
Would you recommend the course to others? Why?
“Yes, I believe that Colman and his team have found the formula for delivering large amounts of UX education in a compressed format, at a fair price. Leaving you with clear understanding of the process involved and how it can benefit your users, your team and you.”
In one word, how would you describe your experience on the course?
“Exceptional.”
